"This book is a home run!"

C. Peter Wagner, Wagner Leadership Institute

“…extremely practical and genuinely profound … a must read for all Christians.” -- Ed Silvoso, Harvest Evangelism

In his book The 9 to 5 Window, Os Hillman equates work with worship and shows this to be a deeply spiritual truth. By following his guidance we can all make the secular sacred and so transform our lives. Don't miss this splendid book!
Ken Blanchard, Co-author The One Minute Manager®, and The Secret

What happens when Christian believers take the Word of God literally and begin to apply it where they spend sixty to seventy percent of their waking hours? What happens when they use their spiritual authority in their work lives, reflecting their spiritual value system in their area of influence? What happens when Christians move in a spiritual dimension in their work lives as few have endeavored to do before now?

What happens is that lives, workplaces, cities and nations begin to be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. His prayer in Matthew, which says “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” becomes a reality in the here and now.

Os Hillman is one of the leading authorities on faith at work today. The 9 To 5 Window: How Faith Can Transform The Workplace, provides an in-depth look at this new move of God and how Christians can practically implement their faith with their work life. Topics include facts on the current movement, how to bring the presence of God into your workplace, developing an intercessory prayer team at work, transforming your workplace, city, and nation for Christ, and much more. Hillman combines his ten years of experience working in the faith at work movement with 20 years as an advertising executive. Bonus Feature: Includes a Bible study guide at the end of the book, ideal for small groups!

Praise for The 9 to 5 Window

Os Hillman has written a book that is extremely practical and genuinely profound. Os addresses how to resolve the tension between the pulpit and the marketplace by showing pastors what is in the heart of Christians who feel a call to ministry but not to the pulpit. He draws on his own insights but also on what he constantly gleans from others in his God given networking ministry. This book is a superb how-to manual and a must read for all Christians.

As a former businessman, I’m delighted to see the growing movement of “marketplace ministries” encouraging Christians to serve God where they spend most of their time—on the job. Not only does The 9 to 5 Window address issues that have caused believers to separate work and ministry, but it also provides a host of guiding principles to those who want to effectively impact their workplaces for Christ. This book helps all of us to see ourselves as ministers!

President and Chief Executive Officer, Promise Keepers

Arguably, Os Hillman is the most knowledgeable person today in the rapidly escalating Faith at Work movement. The 9 to 5 Window will give you an accurate, thorough, and enjoyable overview of one of the most crucial things that the Spirit is saying to the churches in this season.

I have read many of these marketplace books and they usually follow the same theme. But in [this] case I was particularly impressed. And especially with the chapters on Hearing God [and] Receiving only from God. Like [Os], God has taken me through very deep water and my only desire is to honour and love Him. I have been very blessed by [his] daily TGIF Marketplace Meditation. Thank you for everything that you are doing to support and bless us in the marketplace.

"The 9 to 5 Window" clearly should be the workplace Bible. Os Hillman has weaved a tapestry of life between the covers of this book. There is not a day that goes by that someone, on some level does not mention the undercurrent of discontent as it relates their purpose in life and the challenge of blending the realities of the workplace with their personal faith. Many are unnecessarily suffering in silence. For me, it became an obsession; the high stakes search for my destiny was preoccupying my mind and disturbing my sleep. It rendered me professionally disoriented. I now know I am not the only one. I knew there were clues to be discovered and I was determined to find them. Every clue was examined and each took me to the next one. I stumbled on to Os Hillman's website and after watching the video clip, I knew I had found a major clue. He not only got it--he has devoted his life to making sure we all get it. I would have moved the universe for the information I have discovered in "The 9 to 5 Window." This book not only makes the case for how Faith can transform the workplace; it actually puts life in perspective, inclusive of finding the purpose for your life. The flagship chapters are Chapter 10, "Receiving Only What God Gives You," and chapter 11, "Do not Reach for the Power." These chapters are particularly important because when a person is hungry for something, everything looks good. Os Hillman has graphically and painfully, from his personal experience, along with the life of Joseph, put in perspective the need to listen for God's input in the face of independent actions. Had I had the power of this book years ago, it is my belief that my life's journey would be at a different level. As the workplace continues to detour to chaos and security in the workplace continues to phase into ambiguity; leaders at every level will need to ground themselves in something greater than themselves, and certainly greater than their job description. It is my contention that the grounding should start with "The 9 to 5 Window." Not only will it put the 9 to 5 Window in perspective, it will add stability and hope to the 24-hour window.
