This an eye opener; some probably never thought nor looked at this Psalm in this way, even though they say it over and over again.
The Lord is my Shepherd -------That's Relationship!
I shall not want ------- That's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ------- That's Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters ------- That's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul -------That' s Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness -------That's Guidance!
For His namesake ------- That's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ------- That's Testing!
I will fear no evil ------- That' s Protection!
For Thou art with me ------- That's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me ------- That's Discipline!

With more than 35 years’ experience in Women’s Ministries, she has been the Women’s Ministries church coordinator at two churches pastored with her husband, Dr. Gary Allen. She’s served as a sectional Women’s Ministries representative and as the Director of Women’s Ministries for the Illinois District. She’s served three years as the leadership development coordinator in the national Women’s Ministries Department before taking the position of national director in 2003.
Arlene serves on several boards: Religious Alliance Against Pornography, National Association of Evangelicals Women’s Board, National Prayer Center, Healthcare Ministries, Women in Ministry Task Force, Commission on Ethnicity, Family Life and Parenting, and Global Pastors Wives.
Arlene has been married to Gary for 41 years. Gary serves as director of Ministerial Enrichment Office. They have two sons and two grandsons.
Arlene doesn’t have much time for hobbies right now, BUT has big plans for the future.
